Sensory Saturdays at Rippleton Schoolhouse

This summer, the Rippleton Schoolhouse at Lorenzo invites visitors of all ages to engage with history hands-on during Sensory Saturdays. Come explore an authentic 1887 schoolhouse, try your hand at traditional games and activities, and wander the beautiful grounds. Event admission is free.
Art As Memory-Meet the Curator

Join us to meet Guest Curator, Elisabeth Genter Montevecchio as she discusses the pieces on display and what inspired her to create this exhibit. The event includes a mansion tour and light refreshments. Event admission is free.
46th Lorenzo Driving Competition

Join us in celebrating the show's 46th year as the Lorenzo landscape once again sets the backdrop for the display of horse and carriage driving skill, timing, and style. Exhibits, sales, refreshments, and demonstrations are also offered. Sponsored by the Lorenzo Driving Competition, Inc. Event admission is free.

Syracuse Orchestra

Join us on the front lawn of Lorenzo to enjoy a night of beautiful music under the stars. This Syracuse Orchestra will perform a variety of classical and popular music, including music of Smetana, Bernstein, and Copland, plus music from Harry Potter and the Legend of Zelda. Caroga Arts Collective Concert

Caroga Arts Collective, founded and directed by cellist Kyle Price, will return to our front lawn for a second year. Comprised of top professional musicians from around the country, performers may include School of Music faculty, and members of America's leading orchestras and chamber groups. Last year's playlist included Mendelson, Gershwin, Oscar Peterson, Taylor Swift, and the Eagles. Bring your own seating and picnic. Event admission is free.
Limestone Creek Hunt Club's Parade & Blessing of the Hounds

Join LCH for the annual Parade of Hounds through Cazenovia to Lorenzo. Signifying the start of the official "hunt" season, it begins at the village green on Emory Ave, next to Sullivan and Albany Streets, around the corner by the Brae Loch and on to Lorenzo. Following the parade there will be the traditional Blessing of the Hounds on the front lawn of Lorenzo (approximately 9:30am). Event admission is free.
Lorenzo Fine Art Tour

Join art historian Elisabeth Genter Montevecchio for a free 45 minute tour highlighting Lorenzo's amazing fine art collection including works by Sanford Gifford, Edward Moran, Jasper Cropsey, Dwight Williams and 17th century Dutch Masters. Admission to this program is free but reservations are required as space is limited.

Rippleton Schoolhouse Community Day

Since relocating to the Lorenzo grounds in 1997, the Rippleton Schoolhouse has served as a place to "live history". Hundreds of Central New York pupils have attended classes in our restored one-room schoolhouse. Since 2002, the Friends of Lorenzo have hosted this annual event welcoming kids of all ages to participate in period games, enjoy live music, fall refreshments, horse drawn wagon rides, fall crafts and more! Event admission is free.

Christmas Preview Party

The Friends of Lorenzo will showcase the bedecked Mansion at their annual Preview Party. This year's theme is the 50th Anniversary of Christmas at Lorenzo and for the occasion we will be revisiting the past, with each room decorated in a previous year's theme. Join us for the 50th Anniversary of Christmas at Lorenzo. With support from the Friends of Lorenzo, this annual holiday celebration will feature refreshments, live music, and horse drawn sleigh/wagon rides. In addition, on Sunday, holiday crafts for kids of all ages will be featured at the Rippleton Schoolhouse.
